Bees are a vital part of the pollination process that keeps crops and ecosystems thriving. Learn what the state of Oregon is doing to protect bees – and what you can do at home to keep the fuzzy little buzzers healthy – during a presentation at the downtown Klamath County Library on Thursday, December 14th at 6 pm.
The Oregon Bee Project is a joint effort by the Oregon Department of Agriculture and Oregon State University, aimed at monitoring and protecting bee populations throughout the state. The downtown Klamath County Library and the Klamath Regional Health Equity Coalition are hosting a screening and discussion of the film The Motorcycle Diaries on Saturday, December 16th at 2 pm.
The film screening is part of the Klamath Regional Health Equity Coalition’s Diversity Through the Arts program, a series of discussions about films and books that describe culture clashes and the benefits of embracing diversity.
Based on Che Guevara’s memoir of the same name, The Motorcycle Diaries follows a young Guevara – years before he would become the internationally-known Marxist revolutionary – criss-crossing South America on motorcycle. While the trip was born of youthful hedonism, encounters with impoverished people throughout the continent spark the beginning of the revolutionary ideas that would define Guevara’s life...
