Klamath County District Attorney

DUI Tast Force

Drunk Driving is the Nation’s Most Frequently Committed Violent Crime.

  • Each year over 20,000 Oregonians are seriously injured in traffic crashes and over 500 are killed. Almost 50% of those deaths & injuries are ALCOHOL RELATED.
  • In the past decade, 229 traffic deaths occurred in Klamath County. 87 of the 229 were ALCOHOL REALTED.
  • ALCOHOL USE is the #1 drug problem among our youth. EIGHT (8) YOUTH die each day in ALCOHOL-RELATED crashes in the U.S.
  • Drivers under the age of 19 die in vehicle crashes at twice the rate of the rest of the population.
  • In Oregon, between 100-200 lives could be saved if everyone would “BUCKLE UP” and BE RESPONSIBLE!
