Smoke-free Workplace Law

This law covers all places of employment, as well as 75% of hotel/motel rooms. Every Oregon Business must maintain a 10-foot smoke-free zone around doors, windows, and ventilation intakes. Business’s must post signs noting that smoking is prohibited. The new restrictions went into effect January 1, 2009. 

Smoke-Free Housing

As of January 1, 2010 landlords, as part of their rental agreement, are required disclose their smoking policy. A survey of Oregon renters conducted July 2008 found that 70% of Oregon renters say they would choose a smoke-free rental. This includes 38% of smokers who agree. View more information.
